Days in a Lifetime

To the abject animus needin' fixin',
Correction--to compulsive behavior,
Bah!

Difficulties are beauties--
From the expletive to the contemplative,
From persons genteel to the brute--
The challenging combinations thereof are
Mediated, guided by spirit and attitude.
Oh yeah, [sarcastically] what a beaut!

However,
When troubling are the events,
So are facing the problems;
Haunting are the chants,
When confronting the issues.

To the North, to the West,
To the South, to the East--
Lost across the Lands,
Doubtful, fraught--

Such is the indigenous quest
For a cultural namesake created
For elderly and nascent eyes,
For populations to peer through,

While
In search of direction from the Heavens,
In search of answers here, on the Earth,
In search of resolve and resolute days--
All this, within a lifetime.
