An Offbeat Production of the Sonnet

Not for the world (not even for The Globe) is set the community stage.
Picnickers flock to see family and friends play at The Bowl;
The locals who have gathered, those of intergenerational age,
Arrive to watch the cast members in performance, in a comedic bunkum role.

The cast selected to portray the script (lyrically crafted, styled literarily) are required to act the words while remembering the lines.

Failing to synchronize the decisiveness of sentence with the moment, busily snacking, savoring drink,
Adults and kids in the audience might be at a loss in deciphering the cryptic recitation--lapse minds:

Blanketed bottoms on the ground, some lounge in lawn chairs; hands swatting mosquitoes; dehydrated legs cramping; thoughts preoccupied, missing the cajolery, the parry--one might think!

The behavior of the attendees is, perhaps, less than stellar. Yet, what is entertainment?
Eyes, focused, are forward: the costumes, the scenery. Flashless photos are online posted.

Lost, the play's catharsis, the premise replete albeit--if only to enjoy the counterfactual poesy as ornament...
However, such a proclamation invalidates the purpose of the hypothetical logic, the bardish rhetoric, the facetious ideas purported.

These ideas (glossed over, or mulled intellectually, or emotionally considered)--how much precision does take a fortified decision make--let not these distractions give cause to rout.

These ideas, though not tragic, are to be later recalled in the course of expectancy; these distractions prompted by costume and scenery experience needs one to instinctively reflect--for what is life, about.
