Observing the Limit [listen]

The music was constantly disrupted by
A mnemonic device chattering cliches.

Up the street to the end, go left;
The road ahead, a red light camera--
Turn left here; for a few, down the avenue
Until the last intersection, make a right;
Along the road, at the plaza parking lot,
Alright--pickup takeout.

Wonton Soup [large]
Shrimp with Cashews [large]

Egg Drop Soup [small]
Gyoza (steamed)
Pork Fried Rice [small]

On the way back, the route reversed the
Mood: radio silence, hangry.

An accelerated growling purr, an electric
Regenerative birr, a gentle pedal press
And release maintains speed, limits gas
Consumption--gallons per mile.

An atmospheric mist...

Intermittent wipers whisk water from the
Windshield; microscopic droplets cling to
The transparency; the obscureness dissolves
When a certain degree of vented air rises,
Providing temperate clarity:

Staid, between the lines, observing the limit....

A vehicle honks furiously, swerves around
(About time) to test the anti-lock brakes: the
Aggressive driver, a traffic light closer.

Eventually, the deliverables were secured to
The fullest extent--as much of the allotment
Comfort could stomach.
