Minimum Purchase [listen]

At the supermarket, the Junior Partner
Was phoned and asked what he wanted
For dinner.

After a brief discussion over the
Difference between basmati rice and
The regular version, agreed upon
Fried tofu accompanied with a piece
Of fruit.

Only soft tofu was available in the
Doorless refrigerator, so decided the
Local market was the place to go for
Firm bean curd.

Picked up some dark soy sauce as well;
Waited in line, placed groceries on the
Conveyor belt, inserted debit card into
The processor.

There is a minimum purchase amount,
Announced the cashier, pointing to the
Index card sign taped to the side of
The register; the policy, written in
Magic marker.

A cashless consumer, set aside the
Items to go look for more, that which
Would fulfill the requirement.

Chosen--a package of dried noodles,
A small mesh sack of shallots, a bunch of
Enokitake mushrooms and a quarter
Pound of loose bean sprouts.

Some cents under, upon request, the
Cashier rounded up in order to meet the
Necessary total.

Once home, Junior wanted information as to
When dinner would be ready; an hour, give
Or take, was the approximate reply.

Prepared:

Basmati Rice (cooked)
Sea Salt

Firm Tofu (cubed, fried)
Vegetable Oil

Chicken Thigh (diced, fried)
Vegetable Oil

Sautéed separately in Olive Oil/Filtered Water:
-- Bean Sprouts
-- Shallot (sliced julienne)
-- Enokitake Mushrooms

[For Senior] Frozen Peas (blanched)
[For Junior] Black Plum (rinsed)

For each, a bowl of rice, set on the table
Along with the assortment from which to
Pick and choose.

The condiments used to taste: Soy Sauce, Chili
Oil, and Lemon Juice (wedges squeezed).

Full bellies accomplished delectably--to the
Repertoire added was this recipe.
