ANECDOTE 038: April 26, 2015
Ultimate Editorial [listen]

The tryout began with
Taking a lap, at the first
Turn, a playful race:
Fresh lungs, flushed faces.

The practice started--count
Off, four groups, breakout
Teams, two scrimmages.
Coaches scout coordination,
Stamina, the use of improvised
Juke formations.

Game date and time--
Trodden turf is aerated
By co-ed cleated feet
Chasing down a Frisbee,
Attempting to deny the
Opponent, passing to a
Strident striker, cut to a
Wrist-flick, an uptick
In score.

Solo parents watch and
Learn from the kids in
Action, the kids who
(Mano a mano, many on
Many) collectively refuse
To through in the towel.
