The empirical smarts of having
An ache throughout the socket
Without prior careless collision
Or playful pugilistic mishap, the
Pain equivalent to such a wallop
Needles numb around the eye,
Sore to the touch.

The boring piercer subdues
Cognitivity, renders passion
Unreasonable:

Clenched jaws; pooled saliva drools;
A spectrum of light from all angles;
Colors veering balance, blurring
Motions with exception to a fixed point.

The gaze, reminiscent of agog[h] agony:
An arched, furrowed brow; face flushed,
Stomach churns; visage pallid, reflux
Commands reflexes--

Remaining functional, the subconscious
Autonomic mind fights back the mini-mal

To perceive the sleepless dream... rests
An imprinted image; the idea instilled
Logically, follows as the pressure eases;
The dominant curve is jotted for future
Reference, as research of the loop.
